With the Olympic Games kickstarting Friday 26 July, SuperSport announced South African track legend and Olympic gold medalist, Caster Semenya as an analyst.

In what will be her first stint in sports broadcasting, Semenya will be joined by fellow South African gold medalist and veteran swimmer Penny Heyns.

The stellar list of analysts also includes bronze medalist Bridgitte Harley and Olympians Geraldine Pillay and Alyssa Conley.

“I’m very excited to join the SuperSport family and share my knowledge with viewers. I’m looking forward to seeing how Team South Africa does and hopefully we can bring a few medals home.”

Says SuperSport CEO Rendani Ramovha: “We’re excited to bring our SuperSport viewers such a decorated team of Olympians as our analysts for Paris 2024. It’s testament to our recommitment to being Your World of Champions – and few embody the indefatigable championship spirit more than Caster does.”

In good news for fans of the Games in South Africa according to top sports journalist Wesley Botton, the national broadcaster SABC intends live-streaming coverage of the Games.

The sixty-six-strong women’s contingent within the 138 total athletes for Team SA is being represented in 15 different codes, with a few changes from the two previously announcements made by SASCOC, and the total squad includes nine reserves across a number of the different codes.
