Zimbabwean rower, Danielle Kaschula, won gold in the women’s U19 500m Virtual Indoor Rowing Championship on Saturday, 26 February 2022.

Kaschula emerged as winner in 01:31.0 ahead of Doris Meinbek from Estonia and Tunisian pair of Aicha Abdeaziz and Hala Mohamed, who finished 3rd and 4th, respectively.

Meinbek later dusted off her second-place finish in the 500m race, to win the U19 2000m in 06:55.9.

Lina Kuhn of Switzerland claimed silver in 06:58.3, leaving Tunisia’s Aicha Abdeaziz to settle for a bronze medal.

Kaschula finished the race in seventh position to conclude her performance at the prestigious youth rowing event.
