Debbie Hewitt MBE, Football Association’s first woman chair and one of the UK’s most influential, has been elected as the new FIFA Vice-President.
Hewitt became the first female FIFA Vice-President in the history of the organisation, following the 47th UEFA Congress in Lisbon, Portugal, where she secured 39 of 55 votes.

She has secured a four-year term in the seat historically reserved by the world governing body for a UK representative.
In January 2022, Hewitt became the first woman to chair the Football Association after being unanimously elected to lead the governing body.

The FA Chair, and new FIFA Vice-President, Debbie Hewitt, said: “I am honoured to be appointed as a FIFA Vice-President and sincerely thank European football associations for their support.
“My aim is to be a meaningful voice for UEFA in international debates as FIFA seeks to grow the game. I will work hard to promote good governance and transparency, and strengthen UEFA’s relations with FIFA.”
