Laura Wolvaardt, Karabo Meso and Annerie Dercksen delivered career-best performances with bat and ball to help the Proteas Women seal an 80-run victory in the third T20 International (T20I), clinching the series with two games to spare, at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe on Tuesday, 15 September 2026.
Wolvaardt recorded an unbeaten 126 off 62 balls (16 fours, 4 sixes), the highest individual score for the Proteas in women’s T20Is, while Meso scored a maiden half-century, finishing unbeaten on 50 off 51 balls (5 fours, 1 six), as the visitors posted a daunting 200/1 in their 20 overs.
The innings was also Wolvaardt’s 18th century in international cricket, drawing her level with India’s Smriti Mandhana at the top of the all-time list in the women’s game. She was named Player of the Match.
With the ball, Dercksen led the charge with career-best figures of five for 15 as South Africa bowled Zimbabwe out for 120 in 19.3 overs.
The Proteas Women won the toss and elected to bat first. The opening pair of Wolvaardt and Miané Smit (8) put on 27 runs for the first wicket before Smit mistimed one off the bowling of Tendai Makusha (1/48).

That proved to be the only wicket to fall in the innings as Wolvaardt and Meso combined for a mammoth unbroken 173-run partnership for the second wicket, the third-highest partnership for any wicket for South Africa in women’s T20Is.
After a settling-in period that saw the Proteas Women reach 53/1 at the end of the powerplay, Wolvaardt took the game to the opposition, smashing the ball to all parts of the ground while Meso provided composed support at the other end.
Wolvaardt soon brought up her fourth T20I hundred, before Meso followed with her maiden international half-century as the pair propelled the Proteas Women to their highest total of the series.
In defence of 201, South Africa ripped through Zimbabwe’s top order, with a run-out at the non-striker’s end, two scalps for Dercksen and one for Eliz-Mari Marx (1/24) accounting for Lorraine Pemhiwa (0), Kelis Ndhlovu (1), Beloved Biza (0) and Nyasha Gwanzura (28), leaving the Lady Chevrons reeling on 29/4 after six overs.
Matters went from bad to worse for the Zimbabwean side, with Dercksen claiming her third wicket of the afternoon before Seshnie Naidu (1/25) joined the wicket-taking action to reduce the home side to 35/6 in the eighth over.
Although Zimbabwe’s lower order produced a valiant effort late on, with Michelle Mavunga (41), Christine Mutasa (19) and Loryn Phiri (14) helping the hosts surpass the 100-run mark, debutant Luyanda Nzuza (1/19) chipped in with her maiden Proteas Women wicket before Dercksen completed her first international five-wicket haul with two wickets in her final over.

Ayanda Hlubi (1/16) then wrapped up proceedings with three balls to spare, confirming an emphatic 80-run victory for South Africa and an unassailable 3-0 series lead with two matches remaining.
