Three-time African para-badminton champion, Shaimaa Samy, won silver and bronze at the Spanish Para-Badminton International II tournament in Vitoria, Spain, which ended on Sunday, 6 March 2022.

In the singles final, the Egyptian suffered a (15-21) (21-11) loss to Canadian Henriet Koosz to settle for a hard-fought silver medal.

Despite a (21-4) (21-10) thumping to Pilar Jaurequi Cancino, Samy went on to win  bronze in the women’s single WH1 +WH2.

Samy will be aiming to continue her impressive performance at the Iberdrola Spanish Para-Badminton International in Cartagena, Spain.
