There were explosive results on Saturday, 2 November 2019, in the ninth round of the SAFA National Women’s League with log leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns extending their lead at the summit of the standings.
The first match of the day saw Coal City Wizards take on UWC in what was a dramatic match on the field. The side from Cape Town managed to earn a point from the away game, drawing 2-all against their opponents in Mpumalanga.
The rest of the matches took place at 3pm and the intensity was taking up by a notch as teams came out guns blazing and gave supporters the action that they were gunning to see.
University of Johannesburg travelled away against Durban Ladies FC and claimed all three points after a 2-1 victory and First Touch Ladies went on to beat Tsunami Queens by three goals to one.
The goals kept on coming as the remaining three matches pulled off all the stops. Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies earned a 5-2 home victory against Richmond Ladies, while leaders, Sundowns thrashed Thunderbirds Ladies 6-0 on home turf. But, the highlight of the day was the match between Golden Ladies FC and TUT Ladies where the away team stamped their authority, winning 8-1.
