Johannesburg’s Sarah Hill was crowned winner of the Insect Classic mountain bike event in Magoebaskloof on Saturday, 2 November 2019.
Hill was in a class of her own as she claimed the women’s title with an impressive ride which saw her cross the line in 3.17.06, with Sanevey Scriven a distant second.
In the shorter events, the event was almost as tight with veteran Retha Beukes taking an eight-second victory over youth rider Amilia Goosen as sub-vet Jana De la Port ended up just a few seconds further back.
The 20km saw Ali Thomson claiming the honours in the women’s race, while Lohane Ehlers came out tops in the 10km ride.
