Gauteng and Easterns Dominate at Day 1 of CSA Girls U16 Week. Sandile Lukhele (Twitter)

The CSA Girls U16 Week kicked off in fine style as Easterns recorded a  convincing 150 run win over KZN Inland.

Easterns posted a competitive total of 220-5 after 50 overs with Mpumelelo Mashiloane top scoring  with 73. Tamzyn Hartman was unbeaten on 48.

Easterns bowlers equally dominated, dismissing KZN Inland for just 70 runs in 22.2 overs, with Hartman stealing the show , taking 5-13 with the ball.

Gauteng also started the Week on a winning note, beat North West by 138 runs.

An easy win for the Boland side, as they limited Eastern Province to just 32 runs after 18 overs and were able to chase the score, finishing on 36-6.

Meanwhile, Kei, with the bat and ball  contribution from Rutsha Yonga, saw their side win by 15 runs against Northern Cape.

Western Province bowled out KZN Coastal for 55 runs after posting 95 all out batting first, to win the match by 40 runs.

Border was all out for 46 runs, after just 13.3 overs,  in their match against Mpumalanga. In reply, Mpumalanga won by three wickets, scoring 47-7 in 23.4 overs. Sinothando Letswele put in a sterling performance with the ball, getting a fifer, 5-11.
