South Africa long-distance running sensation Gerda Steyn took to social media to announce joining Phantane Athletics Club on Thursday, 16 March 2023.
Sharing the news on Instagram, Steyn said: “Totalsports + Phantane Athletics Club + adidas + Gerda… My heart is so full.
“I am very excited to share my club for 2023 and look forward to becoming part of the amazing work they do for so many athletes in our country!!!
“Phantane was founded in 2013, focusing mainly on finding and developing athletes from disadvantaged backgrounds, where opportunities don’t come around that easily and now I get to be part of something that is also close to my heart!” she continued.
“With the support of Totalsports, #PAC have been very successful from the track to ultras, and I hope to be a positive reinforcement to the team! I promise that I will always give my best for the team and for everyone who believes in me,” she concluded.
