gsport, Africa’s longest-running women’s sport recognition platform, is proud to announce a strategic partnership with G100: Mission Million, a global collective of women leaders committed to gender equity through G100 sports wing.

This collaboration comes as gsport prepares to celebrate the 20th edition of its annual gsport Awards, a milestone marking nearly two decades of recognising and uplifting women in sport across the continent.

From the gsport Newsroom, February 2023

Founded by South African cricket commentator Kass Naidoo in 2006, gsport has expanded from a national initiative to a global movement, including the gsport Newsroom, the gsport Hall of Fame, and its growing outreaches in Africa, India, and the Caribbean.

Under the partnership, G100 will have a visible presence at key gsport events throughout the 2025 Awards weekend, including the gsport Hall of Fame Luncheon and the main Awards ceremony in Johannesburg.

The collaboration also provides an opportunity for G100’s global advisory members and country chairs to convene, strengthening international networks and advancing a shared mission of empowerment through sport.

Ms Mapulane Phohleli, Global Chair of G100’s Sports Empowerment & Championships Wing, said: “gsport embodies the spirit of solidarity and shared purpose that G100 stands for.”

“Together, we are committed to elevating the voices and achievements of women in sport globally, creating pathways for greater inclusion, recognition, and opportunity.”

Kass Naidoo, Founder of gsport, said: “This partnership with G100 marks a powerful moment for women’s sport, not just in Africa but across the globe. Together, we will amplify the stories of female athletes and leaders, break down barriers, and create pathways for future generations to thrive on and off the field.”

“Recognition is the first step to transformation, and with G100 by our side, the impact will be far-reaching.”

The gsport Awards celebrate outstanding female athletes, administrators, media professionals, and leaders who break barriers and inspire future generations. The platform also champions positive storytelling and increased corporate support to drive the growth and commercialisation of women’s sport.
