The gsport Student Vacation Reporters have been hard at work over this week and have challenged themselves as they look to tell the untold stories of South African women in sport.
The first month of the new year has started off on a positive note for South African women in sport as we witnessed Banyana Banyana head coach, Desiree Ellis retaining her CAF Women’s Coach of the Year title and Springbok Women’s captain, Babalwa Latsha, flying out to Spain to begin her professional rugby career with Eibar Rugby Club.
Also, the six Vacation Reporters have been tasked to tell the stories of those women who have been involved in sport, but their stories have never been told. They are also profiling university sports and Karabo Mavuso’s feature on the University of Western Cape’s mission to drive more women’s sport programmes to shape their students beyond the academic realm featured on the gsport.co.za website.
Stay tuned for more incredible stories coming your way. Watch this space!
