Olympic bronze medallist, Gudaf Tsegay, breaks the 1500m record to complete her third World Indoor Tour race victory in Madrid.

The 24-year-old Ethiopian dominated the race to set a new meeting record of 3:57.38.

Her compatriots, Hirut Meshesha and Freweyni Hailu, finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

Tsegay has officially been crowned the 2022 World Athletics Indoor Tour winner and has earned a wild card for the World Championship in Belgrade later this month.

Gaia Sabbatini, the Ethiopian U-23 champion, came fourth with an indoor PB of 4:10.25,.
