Haiti’s national women’s football team has qualified for their first-ever appearance at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, following their win in a final qualification match on Wednesday, 22 February 2023.

Haiti qualified for the first time in its history after a 2-1 win over Chile in their inter-continental qualification play-off match in New Zealand.
The 55th ranked team joins England, Denmark and China in Group D of the World Cup, which is co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia.
The debutants will face the European champions England in their opening match in Brisbane, on Saturday 22 July.
The island nation is the first of three teams to have qualified for the finals, from a 10-team inter-continental play-off in New Zealand.
Portugal managed to take the second of the three places left, following a dramatic 2-1 win over Cameroon.
Paraguay and Panama will face each other on Thursday, 23 February, for the last remaining place in the 32-team tournament.
