Hannah Rigby Wins Big at CANA Zone IV Swimming Champs

South African swimmer, Hannah Rigby displayed an excellent performance at the CANA Zone IV Swimming Championships in Luanda, Angola, which took place from 3-7 May 2023.

In the 400m freestyle, Rigby claimed the gold medal for the 15-16 year division in 4:48.20, took second position in the 50m backstroke in 33.91 and another gold medal in the 100m breaststroke with a time of 1.21.33.

Other medals include first place in 800m, 400m and 200m individual medley and walked away with the girls 15-16 year old Victrix Ludorum as the top points scorer in her age group.

Meanwhile in the 14 and younger 50m backstroke event, Naledi Thobeha bagged first position with a time of 33.50 and behind her was Vache Badal in 30.56 to take second place.

For the 17-19-year division, Leah Christie concluded the podium taking bronze in 100m breaststroke in 1:23.09 and silver in 50m freestyle in 28.52.
