Third seed Heike Janse van Vuuren won the girls’ title on the final’s day of the Curro Tennis Junior Series Tournament at Westridge Park Tennis Stadium in Durban on Friday, 22 January 2021.
Janse van Vuuren bagged her first ITF junior singles title when she upset top seed Leigh van Zyl in three sets.
The 16-year-old had a lot to prove against van Zyl and she met the challenge. The 633-ranked third seed came down from a set down to upset the top seed 3-6 6-2 6-2, to lift the trophy.
Janse van Vuuren and van Zyl later partnered against Cayline Le Grange and Hailey Troup to victory in the girls’ doubles final. The two stars claimed the doubles title after a straight sets 7-5 6-2 victory.
