Two-time 5000m World Champion, Hellen Obiri, ran the 10th fastest ever women’s half marathon to win the N.Kolay Istanbul Half Marathon in Turkey on Sunday, 27 March 2022.
Obiri lived up to expectations as she outshone a strong field to claim first prize in 01:04.48. The win served as Obiri’s first-ever half marathon victory.

The Ethiopian duo of Tsehay Gemechu and Bekejech Gudeta finished second and third in 01:05.52 and 01:06.35, respectively.
