As it had been promised by the South African Football Association, the inaugural SAFA Women’s National League fixtures have been announced as the league kicks off in a special month in South Africa – Women’s Month.
The fixtures have been finalised as there are mouth-watering encounters that are set to take place. All the matches will be held at the Nike Centre in Soweto this weekend with all 12 teams scheduled to play. Entry is free of charge for all supporters that will be making their way to the field to watch the matches unfold.
The first game of the day will see Bloemfontein Celtic kick off the season as they take on the University of Western Cape at 10h00 on Saturday, 24 August, followed by Durban Ladies who will tackle Tsunami Queens at 12h30. The last fixture of the day will see Coal City Wizards battle it out against University of Johannesburg in what promises to be a tough match.
The action will continue again on Sunday when Golden Ladies begin their season against Thunderbirds Ladies at 10h00, First Touch Academy and Tshwane University of Pretoria at 12h30 and in the final match of the day, Mamelodi Sundowns will take on Richmond Ladies.
