Zambia’s starting goalkeeper Hazel Nali will miss out on the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand due to a serious knee injury.

Her national team made the announcement on Wednesday, 12 July,  with less than eight days before the tournament kicks off on 20 July.

Nali has suffered laxity in the Medial Collateral Ligament and a complete tear of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL).

“Get well soon, Nali, we are with you,” the Zambian team said on Twitter.
