Part-time swim teacher, Jasmine Harrison, is currently the youngest woman to row solo across the Atlantic as she inspires the youth to follow their dreams.
The 21-year-old explained her historic 3000-mile feat, saying: “I want to inspire young people to get out there and do something, whether that be changing the world or just doing something outside your comfort zone.”
Her visit to Antigua was what sparked a flame in her to sign up for the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge. She then began to train for the competition in January 2020.
Harrison took on her Atlantic journey in December from La Gomera in the Canary Islands, taking 70 days, three hours and 48 minutes to reach the final destination of the journey in Antigua.
Her phenomenal performance managed to raise more than £10,000 for the Blue Marine Foundation and ShelterBox to tackle overfishing and provide relief to people affected by natural disasters.
