Banyana Banyana forward Jermaine Seoposenwe has joined Mexican top flight club FC Juárez Femenil from Portugal’s SC Braga.
FC Juárez Femenil competes in the Liga MX Femenil which is the highest division of women’s football in Mexico.
The club announced the news on their social media pages on Wednesday, 24 August 2022.
“Welcome Jermaine Seoposenwe, it is an honor to have you here after being champion in the Portuguese first division with SC Braga and with your national team during the African Cup of Nations. We already want to have you on the field.” The club wrote.
The move comes after Seoposenwe’s impressive display at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations with Banyana Banyana in Morocco last month.
The forward played a major role in helping the team win their first ever WAFCON trophy, scoring two goals, with the first goal coming against rivals Super Falcons of Nigeria in the group stages and the second goal against Tunisia in the quarter-finals.
The jubilant player also expressed her excitement with joining the Mexican League: “New journey awaits! Excited for the new opportunity with FC Juárez Femenil and to achieve the goals that the team has set this year.” Wrote Seoposenwe
