JVW FC Coach Mahama Musah Arthur Aims for Continental Success

JVW Girls Football Club’s newly appointed first team head coach, Mahama Musah Arthur, is looking forward to taking the team to new heights on the African continent.

The Hollywoodbets Super League team announced the vastly experienced and CAF A License -accredited Arthur as their new head coach on Monday, 24 January 2022.

Speaking with gsport about his appointment, Arthur said: “Amazing, wonderful…I am really very happy to be part of this great league.

“I think it is about time that women’s football in this wonderful country of ours rises up to the occasion and compete among the best in the world. For me it’s a step in the right direction and hopefully I will be able to contribute positively to women’s football in the country,” he added.

The Ghanaian hopes to bring a positive impact into the team that already has a winning mentality.

“Hard work, respect and love, passion, dedication, discipline, ambition, setting goals and achieving them, good team spirit, a team of good players full of winning mentality. The team that fights from the first whistle to the last whistle, a team with a vision, a team with an identity, a team full of positivity.”

For the upcoming HBSL season, Arthur aims to guide the team to league glory and represent South Africa in the CAF Champions League.

“We want to be the 2022 Hollywoodbets Super League champions and represent South Africa in the African championship tournament.

“We are hoping to concede less goals and score goals. I think with a bit of luck this year it will be our year,” he concluded.

Arthur will be assisted by former JVW player, Unathi Mabena, on the technical team bench.
