Team South Africa’s Kaylene Corbett secured another silver medal and qualified for the Women’s 200m breaststroke, while Erin Gallagher set a new African record and secured silver in the Women’s 100m Butterfly final at the FISU Games on Saturday, 05 August 2023 in China.
Corbett grabbed her second silverware in the women’s 200m breaststroke final with a time of 2:22.99, her time also booked her a spot for the 2024 Olympics.
Her first silver medal was in the 100m breaststroke.

In the Women’s 100m Butterfly Gallagher broke another African record as she grabbed a silver medal in the final. She finished the event with a time of 57.44 breaking the record that was held by South Africa’s Tatajana Schoenmaker.

In the Women’s Discus throw Yolandi Stander also walked away with silver as she threw a distance of 57.89m.
