Le Court played the patience game, allowing early attacks to go before using the climbs in the second half of the 97-kilometre course to exert her dominance over the elite women’s field.
The AG Insurance Soudal star attacked from a select group of 10 on Jan Smuts Avenue and passed the lone breakaway rider, Magda Nieuwoudt, to seize the lead with 15 kilometres remaining.

Once in the front, Le Court never looked back and took a commanding victory ahead of Lucy Young and Nieuwoudt.
The women’s winner rides away R200 000 richer, claiming the biggest single-day prize money in South African cycling.
