South African Olympic rower, Kirsten MacDonald, earned gold and silver for Team SA at The Memorial Paolo D’Aloja regatta, which concluded on Sunday, 10 April 2022 in Piediulco, Italy.
MacDonald took gold in the women’s lightweight single scull and silver in the women’s heavyweight single scull.
Speaking on her brilliant performances, MacDonald took to Instagram, saying: “Racing was unbelievably epic…
“A little chilly…A little windy,” she explained.
“All round epic to race internationally again. Thank you Rand Merchant Bank for the opportunity to race in Italy to test our speed as the RMB National Squad.”

The National Squad returns to South Africa to resume training in preparation for the National Selection regatta happening from 6-8 May.
