gsport Style Star of the Year finalist, Mapaseka Makhanya, is one of the influential speakers expected at the Central Gauteng Athletics women in sport seminar on Saturday, 8 August at the Protea Hotel (Parktonian) in Braamfontein.
The event aims to structure the participation of women in sport. It will cover topics which affect women in the sports industry as well as look at solutions. The purpose is to inspire more women, not only to be involved in sport, but also to encourage other women to participate in sport.
Makhanya says: “I’m so excited to be a speaker at a woman’s seminar especially in Women’s Month. Thanks to Central Gauteng Athletics for honouring women. This is a great platform for women from all walks of life and different sporting codes to be in the same room and motivate each other.”
Seminar organiser, Mfuneko Joko, said: “As the province, we feel so grateful and passionate about the well deserved platform afforded to Women of our sport to interact, educate each other and grow collectively. Participants can brace themselves for a very educational, informative, exciting women in sports session.”
gsport Founder, Kass Naidoo, who will speak on the importance of building brands, says: “It is so important for women to get together, share ideas and support each other. I am excited to be joining influential speakers on a very special day for Central Gauteng Athletics.”
The program will address issues like participation of women in sports administration, performance of women in sport, educational support, building brands, life skills, family and sport, and opportunities in sport.
The event is open to the public, however seats are limited.
