Limpopo Impala Lillies beat Mpumalanga Rhinos Women by 5-wickets in a closely contested match, in the CSA Women’s Professional Domestic One-day Cup at the Polokwane Cricket Club, on Saturday 28 October.

In the only match of the day, Division 2 team Rhinos won the toss and elected to bat first.

Sveva Moore got the scoreboard ticking for the visitors, before she was sent back to the dressing for a well-played 39 (98) with five fours.

Impala Lillies bowler Khushi Mistry was destructive with the ball, taking 4/26 in her bowling spell. But Rhinos were not deterred by the danger of Mistry, as Angel Mgwenya put bat to ball in what was a sensational innings but finished 46 (50) with five fours.

Wickets continued to fall but it was the brilliant batting of Chris-Mari Bezuidenhout 40 (41), smashing six fours, and the unbeaten support of Ashley Barnard 13* (20) with one four, and Lalique Broxham 7* (11) that got the visitors to 181/7 in their 50 overs.

The home team wasted no time in the run chase, as they steadily fought back.

Dimakatso Tsotetsi steadied the run chase with 33 (35) smashing three fours. Salphina Moloutsi 25* (37) with two fours and Khushi Mistry 8* (3) with the only maximum of the day were unbeaten, as they got their home team over the line with 182/5 in 29.3 overs.
