The Hollywoodbets Super League is getting to the business end of the competition and fresh off their CAF Women’s Champions League win, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies are back in action and will take on TUT FC at 3pm on Thursday, 23 November 2023.
Banyana Ba Style are currently second on the log but have four games in hand, as they were away in the Ivory Coast for the Champions League.
Sundowns Ladies coach Jerry Tshabalala says after getting the job done in Korhogo, it’s now imperative that this team shifts their focus to the job at hand, which is trying to seal another league title.
“We have a chance to go out there and win the Hollywoodbets Super League. We have done it before, we won a treble in 2021 and we stand another good chance to win another treble again this year. But games in hand are not points, we just have to grind for those results.”
Sundowns Ladies coach Jerry Tshabalala
“I already told the girls after the game that the Champions League is done and dusted, now our focus is on the Hollywoodbets Super League. The cup that we brought home is more or less like any cup we brought home, so the focus has to shift now to the league. We will be back in training and it shows that we want to win everything.”
It is UWC who currently lead the standings with with 72 points and 29 games played, Sundowns Ladies on the other hand are on 66 points, after 25 games. So Tshabalala’s team have to win their remaining games if they want to keep their dream of winning the league alive.
TS Galaxy Queens are up to third with 60 points as JVW FC occupy fourth place with 57 points, Royal AM take on JVW FC at 3pm today in the day’s other match, also kicking off at 3pm.

While Sunday sees Sundowns Ladies take on Thunderbirds at home. Current log leader UWC, will face Durban Ladies. The Cape side will still be leading the standings on Saturday even if the Brazilians win, but should the Pretoria based-team win, that gap will be closed to 3 points.
