Netball South Africa has unveiled the squad set to jet off to England on Friday to face the Vitality Roses in a three-match Test Series, and the Spar Proteas will also face Scotland in a practice match on 3 December before the series begins.

This will be the third time that these two nations meet up in a long while – they met in January during Quad Series, drawing once, and England winning their play-off match, but the teams did not meet during the 2023 Netball World Cup in Cape Town.

The South Africans have recently returned since their trip from Australia, and the Proteas will be getting in good form to face the Roses.

“It is very important for us to play teams that are ranked above because this will serve two great purposes, one being that we can gauge how far or close are we in being one of the best and secondly, we can work our way to improving our points on the table and push our way into the top four.”

Netball South Africa President, Ceciclia Molokwane

England have all the bragging as they are yet to lose against South Africa this year. The South Africans will get together on Friday, 24 November, before flying out to England on Monday 27 November, 2023.

“It is very important for us to play teams that are ranked above because this will serve two great purposes, one being that we can gauge how far or close are we in being one of the best and secondly, we can work our way to improving our points on the table and push our way into the top four,” said Molokwane.

“The more we get our players international exposure and experience the better, this will be sure to sharpen them and make more competitive.”

The two nations will play three test matches on 5, 9 and 10 December 2023, with the first match being played in Manchester and the last two in Nottingham.

The Proteas will face Scotland in a practice match on 3 December, before the Test series.
