The Department of Sport and Recreation SA Minister Fikile Mbalula congratulates Netball South Africa national team SPAR Proteas on their performance at the Netball World Cup

“Though we did not win the World Cup, the display put by our girls signals growth in the development of Netball in South Africa,” Minister Mbalula said.

“It gives us such pleasure to see the investment we’ve put in netball bearing fruits,” the Minister added.

“Our girls must be hailed for flying our South African flag high, and making the nation proud. We will continue to invest more in netball and other sport codes that need our attention.”

SPAR Proteas finished off at the Netball World Cup by beating Malawi to secure 5th ranking as the best African team in the netball world.
