The SPAR National netball team has gone into camp as it begins final preparations ahead of the 2006 COSANA Games in Malawi, starting next week.

It‘s a crucial time for the team as it looks to gel under new coach Burta de Kock, whose appointment is temporary and will be reviewed when the team gets back from Malawi. 

As preparation for the COSANA Games, the South African team has played a series of matches against five of the country’s strongest provincial and leagues sides, winning all three matches. 

In the most recent match played, the team beat Gauteng Thunderbirds 45-30.I

n the first match of the tour at the Paarl Gymnasium School in May, the team beat the Western Cape Tornados 59-44.

In July the team beat the Eastern Cape Comets 50-31 at the NMMU Indoor Sports Centre in Port Elizabeth.
