Prudence Sekgodiso on Song at ASA Champs

South African athletics teen sensation Prudence Sekgodiso claimed the 1500m title on day 2 of the ASA Track and Field National Championships on Friday, 22 April 2022.

Sekgodiso dominated the track as she crossed the finish line in a time of 04:16.38 ahead of second-placed Carina Viljoen (04:20.07) and Danielle Verster (04:20.53) who concluded the top three.

In the 3000m event, Chenique Sas found her strength in the last lap as she overtook Lizandre Mulder, who led most of the race.

Sas finished in 10:43.72, while Mulder came in second in 10:44.14 and third-placed Casey Bosman in 10:57.89.

Another highlight of the day saw Leandri Geel smash a distance of 59.70 the hammer category.
