SAFA Wishes Candidates Well for CAF Awards

The South African Football Association (SAFA) has congratulated a number of South Africans candidates nominated for the upcoming 2019 CAF top awards.

The list of nominees is compiled by a panel of media and technical professionals and the awards will take place on Tuesday, 7 January 2020 in Hurghada, Egypt.

Banyana Banyana coach Desiree Ellis has been nominated in the CAF Women’s Coach of the Year category, Thembi Kgatlana and Refiloe Jane (CAF Women’s Player of the Year).

“We are proud of these nominations and goes to show where South Africa is as far as progress (of Football) on the African continent is concerned.
“I am very confident that even when the list is whittled down, most of these candidates will be among the top on the continent,” said SAFA President, Dr Danny Jordaan.
