On the African continent, Mukansanga also made ground-breaking moves. This year, she made history becoming the first woman to officiate at an African Cup of Nations tournament as she took charge of the Guinea vs Malawi match.
She has also previously featured at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, Africa Women’s Cup of Nations and the 2021 CAF Women’s Champions League.
In 2021, the FIFA-accredited referee played her part at the Tokyo Olympic Games as she took charge of the women’s football fixtures.
