Senwes North West Dragons claimed back-to-back victories defeating Hollywoodbets KZN Coastal in the CSA Women’s Provincial T20 Cup Top 6 clash at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom on Sunday, 23 January 2022.

The Coastal team had won the toss and elected to bat first.

Ayanda Hlubi top scored with 26 (18) hitting two fours and one six as they scored 99/3 in their innings. She was assisted by Kiara Fisher with figures of 21 (35) and three fours. Alyssa Erxleben was the pick of the Dragons bowlers as she claimed two wickets for twelve runs.

The Dragons comfortably reached the target in 12.4 overs. Izel Cilliers was unbeaten on 32* (31) smashing five fours, she was supported by Zintle Mali who yet again showed her talent with the bat as she hit a quick fire 23 (15) with four fours.

The Dragons won by 8 wickets.

In the other Top 6 clash in Benoni, Eastern Storm won the toss and elected to bat first. They set a target of 98/5 in their innings, with Jenna Searle scoring 44 (54) hitting five fours and one six.

Robyn Searle of Titans Ladies was unbeaten on 56* (60) as the Daisy Ladies reached the target of 99/2 in 18.1 overs to win by 8 wickets.

SWD Maintain Winning Streak in Pool A

South Western Districts maintained their weekend winning streak as they beat Border Women by 47 runs in their Pool A clash in Outdshoorn.

SWD set a target of 135/5 with Micaela Andrews showcasing her class with both bat and ball, as she top scored with 64 (50) smashing eight fours and one six, and took three wickets for twenty-one runs.

Siyamanga Mhletywa top scored for Border Ladies with 27 (18) but it was not enough as they were bowled out for 88 in 19.1 overs, handing SWD a 47-run victory.

The Pool B clash between Free State Women and Limpopo Women in Bloemfontein, saw the Free State team win by 32 runs.

Free State set a target of 104/6 with Gezelle Jansen van Rensburg top scoring with 30 (24) with three fours, she also took two wickets for fourteen runs. Kushi Mistry was the pick of the Limpopo bowlers with figures of three wickets for seventeen runs in four overs.

Limpopo reached a total of 72/9 in their innings with Tebogo Machake scoring 24 (26) with three fours, but it was not enough as the team fell short of their target.
