The Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers have announced their squad for 2023/24 season adding two new players in the team and retaining the services of T20 Women’s World Cup finalist, Tazmin Brits.
The contracting period saw two new players join the Garden Route Badgers. Right-handed batter, Julia Hoal, and batting all-rounder, Tabitha la Grange makes the move to Oudtshoorn from Boland.
Following an impressive outing last season, head coach Martelize van der Merwe hopes they can emulate and better the previous season.
“It is exciting to retain the core group from the 2022/2023 season squad that helped us to finish the season third on the log in both the 50 Over and T20 format and retain our position in the Top 6.”
Tazmin Brits (National contracted player), and Janè Winster, Annerie Dercksen, Micaéla Andrews and Mieke de Ridder (all CSA High Performance contracts) have been confirmed as available for the Badgers. Haroline Rhodes has been rewarded for her performance and was elevated to a semi-professional contract.
Gary Moos, the Cricket Services Manager at SWD Cricket is excited to have some new recruits on board. “The Garden Route Badgers is happy to welcome our new recruits and wishes them all the best for the 2023/2024 season.”
