A group of South African junior ballerinas recently claimed top spot at the IDO World Championships hosted in Poland.
The International Dance Organisation (IDO) hosted the 2019 World Championship in Poland, where various dancers across several disciplines are invited to compete in order to claim bragging rights. Over 500 000 dancers from different parts of the world form part of the IDO, and the South African girls attended the World Ballet and Jazz Championships hosted in Warsaw in Poland, where they won the category of Junior Ballet Small Group.
Michelle Lombaard Nesbitt, who coached the Pretoria-based girls, took to Facebook to congratulate them saying, “No words can describe how proud I am of these kids! It was such a privilege and honour to work with such talented and hardworking dancers! Congratulations to the new Junior Ballet Small Group World Champions!”
