The African Hockey Road to Paris 2024 Qualifier is around the corner and the South Africa Hockey Association has announced an 18-player squad for the tournament.
From the 29 October, Pretoria will see 15 teams battle to earn a spot at the Paris Olympic Games next year, and South Africa is in action on Day one, their first Test against Zimbabwe scheduled for 4pm on Sunday 29 October.

“We are looking forward to the tournament and the opportunity to take on the rest of Africa. We have had a couple of good camps, and we want to make our country proud and secure qualification for the Paris Olympics.”

Hosts South Africa are in Pool A of the tournament alongside Nigeria and Zimbabwe with the top two teams advancing to the Semi-Finals.
The squad which include experienced Celia Seerane who boasts 173 caps in the green and gold, features seven of the players that were part of the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo.
Another veteran Quanita Bobbs (172 caps) will be another key inclusion in a team that sees a fantastic blend of youth and experience.
Aphiwe Dimba and Paris-Gail Isaacs have their opportunity to begin their national journey as they gear up for their maiden games for Team SA.
“We believe the squad selected will have a great opportunity to do exactly that,” added Bonnet.
The African Hockey Road to Paris 2024 Qualifier takes place at Tuks University from the 29 October – 5 November.
