As expected the final stage and overall women’s category victory in the Sabie Experience mountain bike race went to Amy Jane Mundy and Sara Muhl, who ended up more than 15 minutes quicker in the final standings than their nearest competitors.
Heavy overnight rain in Mpumalanga led to the neutralisation of Stage 3 of the 2007 Sabie Experience mountain bike race on Sunday, leaving the top riders with only Monday’s short 24km time trial to sort out the final podium places.
The Jeep Girls team comprising Amy Jane Mundy and Sara Muhl got their 2007 Sabie Experience mountain bike race off to a perfect start with a close victory on the first stage in Sabie on Friday, which they comfortably expanded after Saturday’s stage two for an overall lead well exceeding 10 minutes.
