Dominique Provoyeur (Team Manager/Skipper) of the all-girls’ Sailing Team Isigungu has written again to gsport, this time with the best possible news:
In case things get a little crazy tonight – just thought I would let you all know that we made it! We won the last race and qualified South Africa for the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008!
There couldn’t be a more determined and proud team on the water today.
We must thank all of you who have made it possible for us to get this far and for all the support we have received, we really could not have done this without you.
Thanks to our families and friends for standing by us during this last year and of course to our main sponsor Devonvale Golf and Wine Estate.
If you don’t mind, now I think I will go and have a glass of champagne!
