19 year old Tenille Swartz of Parys, South Africa’s Female Squash Player of the Year, is one of 3 nominees for the WISPA (Women’s International Squash Players’ Association) Young Players Award which will be made at the second World Squash Awards at the RAC Club in London’s Pall Mall on Friday 22nd December.
Swartz, now based in the Netherlands, who only started playing the WISPA circuit four months ago, rocketed 77 places up the December world rankings from 134 to 57 after winning the Austrian and Meersquash Open championships and qualifying for the 32 player Women’s World Open draw in November in Ireland.
The other nominees are two 17 year olds – Camille Serme (France) and Egypt’s Raneem El Weleily, the 2005 World Junior Champion, who won the WISPA Young Player Award in 2004 and 2005.
