Border Women claimed a 10-wicket victory over Kei Women as the CSA Senior Women’s Provincial 50 over competition continued at Buffalo Park in East London on Saturday, 12 February 2022.

The Buffalo City team won the toss and put Kei in to bat as the visitors struggled to maintain partnerships, due to the brilliant bowling of Khayakazi Mathe.

Mathe took a five-wicket haul to dismiss the visitors for 113. Sethu Ngume top-scored for Kei with 25 (97).

Border responded with great batting display from Siyahluma Mabombo who was unbeaten on 59* (67) and Sisipho Siswana on 38* (47). The home team claimed a 10-wicket victory as they reached the target of 115 in 18.5 overs.

In the Top 6 matches, Imperial Gauteng Lions Women’s team hosted Eastern Storm Women at Imperial Wanderers Stadium.

Easterns were put in to bat and were bowled out for 150. Jenna Searle was unbeaten on 54* (122) with Alysia Rudolph scoring 36 (76). While, Jameela Shaikjee took three wickets for the Lionesses.

In return, the Lionesses reached the target of 151/5 in 29.1 overs with Kirsten Thomson scoring 52 (49) to claim a 5-wicket victory.

In the second Top 6 clash, Titans Women played host to Senwes North West Dragons at SuperSport Park in Centurion.

The Daisy Ladies won the toss and put the Dragons in to bat.

The Dragons were bowled out for 210 in 48.1 overs, with Lizri de Villiers top-scoring with 50 (39), with assistance from Elandri Janse van Rensburg with 39 (66)

Josephine Maswangane took a magnificent five-wicket haul for the Daisy Ladies with figures of 8.1-59-5.

Robyn Searle fought hard for Titans with an excellent batting display of 74 (118), but it was not enough as they were bowled for 152 and handed the Dragons a 58-run victory.

In the final match of the day, Hollywoodbets KZN Coastal Women’s team hosted the Six Gun Grill Western Province Women at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium in Durban.

The visitors won the toss and chose to bat. They were bowled out for 196 with Delmi Tucker unbeaten on 55* (48). Ayanda Hlubi took three wickets for the KZN team.

In the run-chase, the KZN side failed to maintain sustainable partnerships as they were bowled out for 124.

Leah Jones took a four-wicket haul as the Western Province team won by 72 runs and maintained their winning streak.
