African javelin record holder Sunette Viljoen headlined the first ASA Athletix Invitational Meet on Tuesday, 23 March 2021.

Viljoen produced a 58.00m effort to edge out former European junior champion Nikol Tabackova of the Czech Republic (57.15m) at the Ruimsig Athletics Stadium in Roodepoort.

On the track, former world champion Amantle Montsho from Botswana dominated the 400m race in 53.78, with compatriot Oratile Nowe taking the runner-up spot in 53.99.

And, in the 100m sprint, Boipelo Tshemese was quickest crossing the line in 11.45 (+3.0m/s) and 19-year-old Prudence Sekgodiso took the 800m race in 2:08.57.
