Three Gauteng North
players shined at the recent North West Championship, which was won by Kim
Williams who played solid golf over 36-holes on the lengthened Orkney Golf
Course, to taste her first victory of the season.

Runner up, local player
Bonita Bredenhann, who also won the Closed Championship and Gauteng North’s
Henriette Frylink tied for second place.

Western Province junior, Dominique Jacobs performed
well and tied for 5th place with relative newcomer, also from Gauteng North,
Madelaine Kleinhaus.

Bertine Strauss
struggled in her morning round with an 80 and then played a par round 72 to
improve her overall finish and take home the best gross prize.

Former national women’s
cricketer, Johmari Logtenberg, who gave up cricket last December, to take up a
career in golf, won the best gross prize in the 10-24 Division.
