The 2020 edition of Wimbledon has been cancelled due to the global Coronavirus pandemic and will now take place from 28 June to 11 July 2021.
The tournament was originally scheduled to take place between 29 June and 12 July but has joined other major tournaments as they cancel their events for 12 months.
It is with great regret that the AELTC has today decided that The Championships 2020 will be cancelled due to public health concerns linked to the coronavirus epidemic.

In the media release, Wimbledon stated, “Uppermost in our mind has been the health & safety of all of those who make Wimbledon happen – the public, players, guests, members, staff, volunteers, partners, contractors, and local residents – as well as our responsibility to society’s efforts to tackle this global challenge,” said AELTC Chairman, Ian Hewitt.
The Championships will also refund those who have already purchased tickets for the tournament.
“Those of you who paid for a ticket in the Wimbledon Public Ballot for this year’s Championships will receive a refund, and will have the choice to purchase a pair of tickets to The Championships 2021 for the same day and court,” Hewitt concluded.
