Hey girls, here’s some added motivation to enter the SPAR Women’s 10km Challenge with Bokomo on August 26 at the LC de Villiers sportsgrounds in Hatfield, Pretoria.

To celebrate the Month of the Women, organisers are calling all schools to enter as many school girl learners as possible, to stand a chance of winning big.  SPAR is giving away R 5 000 to the school with the most entries.

Organisers believe it’s the perfect opportunity to help girls express their support for their school, to encourage them to develop a healthy habit of exercise … and most of all, to have fun!

Runners and walkers are welcome, and can enter the Challenge or the Fun Run. The 10 km Challenge is open to all females over the age of 15, and girls over the age of nine can enter the Fun Run.

And you’ll be supporting a worthy cause, too. A percentage of each entry fee goes to Chrysalis – a ‘finishing school’ for girls between 16 and 18 who have been victims of abuse.  The modular courses are aimed at boosting the self-esteem of the young women, and at the same time, helping them to become survivors rather than victims.

In addition to the possibility of winning R 5 000 for the school, there are plenty of other prizes on offer, including a year of groceries worth R12000.  Girls who took part last year can also enter the Bring-a-Friend competition, and stand a chance of winning a midweek break for two at the luxurious Mount Grace Spa in the Magaliesberg.

Entry forms are available from SUPERSPAR, SPAR and KWIKSPAR stores or online at www.spar.co.za – call 011 203 5399 to locate the participating SPAR closest to you. The first 8 000 will receive a free t-shirt on entry, and the

first 10 000 will receive a goodie bag.

So get your girls to Take the Challenge – not only will they have a fantastic afternoon, but they could win R 5 000 for your school.
