South Africa’s Zenéy van der Walt produced a storming finish to grab bronze in the women’s 400m hurdles final at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham on Saturday, 6 August.

The 22-year-old came out of nowhere to break an all-Jamaican podium in the last stretch to finish in third place.
Van der Walt passed Jamaica’s Rushell Clayton by just 0.20 seconds in a personal best time of 54.47 seconds.
Janieve Russell, who is the defending champion from the Gold Coast, grabbed gold with a time of 54.14 seconds, she was followed by her teammate Shiann Salmon who claimed silver ahead of van der Walt.
