On match day two of Group B at the Hollywoodbets COSAFA Women’s Championship, Angola emerged as the standout winners at Lucas Moripe Stadium, while the defending champions, Zambia, faced a challenging draw against Mozambique at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville, on Thursday, 5 October.

Sousa Garcia’s Angolan team showcased their dominance on a scorching day in South Africa’s capital, securing an impressive 5-0 victory against the Comoros Islands.

All of the goals were scored during the first half of the match. Elsa Caupe struck within the opening five minutes, followed by Sara Luvunga’s goal at the 20-minute mark.

Matondo Matuvova added a third, and Paulina Sambo netted the fourth. In injury time of the first half, an unfortunate own goal by Anllaouia Hadhirami Ali sealed the fifth goal.

This result firmly establishes Angola as the frontrunners in the group, having earned three points in a group that also includes the defending champions, Zambia.
