She tweeted, “Great few days at the U19 Schools Squash tournament in Cape Town. Northerns managed to secure another gold. I have now won 4x gold in a row with my teams since U16 and U19.”
As the squash star gears up for the WSF Women’s World Junior Championships in France, these winning performances will certainly give her a boost in confidence.
The massively talented Malinga is one of the top six under 19 girls to receive the call-up to represent Team South Africa in August. She also thanked her coaches, sponsors and teams for the consistent support.
Early this year the U19 2022 Northerns Junior Squash Association Girls Champion was ruled out for 5 months due to a partial ACL tore injury, making her return to competitive action for the first time in May 2022. In her first time back, she won in the gold U19 category.
Next up for the junior squash sensation as she takes her preparation for France a notch higher, is the 2022 Growthpoint Interprovincial tournament. The tournament takes place from 11-15 July in East London.
