Barcelona FC have revealed their new away kit for the 2021/2022 season which has been created to promote women empowerment. The new kit will tie in with the club’s new “More Than” campaign which is aimed at helping out the local community and further demonstrates Barcelona’s motto of “more than a club”.
In creating the latest away kit, the club meshed together their famous red and blue stripes which created the spunky purple. Purple is colour that is commonly used to represent the fight for gender equality.
Barcelona went the extra mile in the design of the jersey to further display their “More Than” empowerment cause by adding stripes on either side of the jersey which represents both the masculinity of the club as well as the femineity.

The design also features a monochromatic crest, which is created to give off a different colour depending on the angle it is looked at, and there is a multicolour rainbow threat hidden within the shirt to add to the vibrant feel of the new design.
Aitana Bonmati, a Barcelona football player believes that the new kit will be well received amongst the younger fans.
“I think our younger fans are going to love it, it’s so fresh and different from anything I’ve ever seen,” said Barcelona football player Aitana Bonmati.
“In every look, you find more intricate details and it’s the perfect uniform for representing this amazing club with its rich history.” She further added.
This year will mark the 50th anniversary of the first meeting of Barcelona women’s football club. The club honour’s those who paved the way for today’s women with the new campaign.
