The Sasol Women’s League spotlight is firmly on Free State this weekend where the League Champions, Bloemfontein Celtic seem to have a tight grip on top spot. Lovelife FC and Mamello Ladies FC are yet to get on the board, ten games into the season.
The weekends action will kick-off at the Bluegumbosch stadium on Saturday with a clash between second placed Tsunami Queens against Tumahole Ladies. The Queens who are three points behind Siwelele at the top will be looking to collect maximum points at home.
Ace Milan, tied in second with Queens Ladies, travel to Black Urban ground to take on Black Urban FC who occupy position four. This will undoubtedly be the clash of the weekend as both sides look to cement their places as legitimate title contenders.
Ayebush were disappointing last weekend, going down 3-1 to Urban and will be looking for their second win of the season when they take on a rejuvenated Kovsies FC side at the UFS Campus.
Central University FS are at home to Kolisang Ladies at the Zuka Baloyi stadium. The home side have been inconsistent of late with their record of five win and four losses. A victory in Welkom will push them 19 points.
Judging by the log standings, Bloemfontein Celtic look set to be making a return to the National Championships with their undefeated record. Siwelele are away to Simunye Ladies on Sunday and the home side have registered just three wins from 10 games and must surely improve if they are to make a push for league honours.
Like Mamello Ladies this season, Lovelife FC have found life tough in the Free State this season and they occupy bottom spot on the table. They are at home to Grassland Ladies, while Nigol FC will travel to Makwane Stadium to face Happy Ladies FC.
